How it works for Lendees

1. Create an account
Follow the steps to create your free account.
2. Search your area for what you need
Utilise the search bar and filter to help narrow down your search.
3. Request to borrow from a lender
Submit your request with the required details and desired dates after finding what you need. After that, you'll be directed to the payment section to provide your card details.
4. Pay securely
After submitting your card details, your money will be held in our secure payment portal until the Lender approves the listing. Once approved, you will receive a confirmation message via your Lendy inbox and an email receipt. To release the money to the Lender, mark the order as 'complete' upon returning the item. If the listing isn't approved, you'll receive a refund.
5. Collect. Enjoy. Return!
To start renting, coordinate with the Lender for collection or delivery. Once done, kindly return the item to the Lender on the agreed date and time. Remember to hit 'marked complete' at the end of your transaction. Then follow the prompts to leave a review!
Lendy Cover & Eligibility
We understand the importance of protecting your hard-earned money, and so we have created a FREE comprehensive protection policy to cover each and every Lend. This protection policy covers any accidental damage, theft or loss of the item during the rental period, up to the maximum of $2000. This cover does not cover general wear and tear.
In order to be eligible for this protection policy, you must meet all the requirements outlined in our Lendy Cover Eligibility. Please read through this carefully to ensure you are covered for every Lend.
We also require that you provide us with accurate information in order to ensure proper coverage, such as your current address and contact information.
The protection policy has a maximum payout of $2,000 in the case of any accidental damage, theft or loss of the item during the rental period, not including general wear and tear. In the event of a claim, it is important to file the claim within 24 hours of the incident, and to include all the necessary documentation.

LENDY COVER ELIGIBILITY
1. Photo ID: It is the responsibility of the Lender to request photo identification upon each lend. You simply need to take a photo of both the Lender and Lendee ID, then upload these images to your chatroom.
2. Images of Item: Upon each lend and return the Lender needs to take images of each item and upload them to the chatroom. These images need to be taken and submitted at the time of handover for both lend and return.
3. Estimated Value: The ‘Estimated Value’ field needs to be correctly filled in upon each listing. Please note that the amount listed in the section does not guarantee that this is the amount which will be paid out, as the item will need to be assessed by the Lendy team to determine the replacement value of the item in question.
4. Bond holding: It is highly recommended that the Lender holds a bond for high value items. Please note that as a Lendee, this is an agreement made between you and the Lender, Lendy holds no responsibility for the holding of this money. If the Lender requires a bond, this amount must be stated in the ‘Bond Required’ description of the listing. Should you hold a bond from a Lendee and an incident arises, the bond holding amount will need to be confirmed with the Lendy team and will be taken into consideration when determining the appropriate payout amount.
5. Raising the issue: There is a strict 24 hour turnaround time for reporting an issue. This is best met by checking each item thoroughly at the end of each Lend. All images of the damage need to be submitted at the time of return and must be uploaded to the chatroom immediately to ensure all the information is available to the Lendy Cover team for thorough assessment.

Lend safely and respectfully
Follow our community guidelines:
We take the safety of our community seriously, so our team will review all listings, and remove any that are suspicious and/or violate our community rules (see below).1. Respect all other members and do not send spam, or any offensive or threatening messages and comments, or engage in any other form of offensive communication.
2. Only create listings for goods you own and are authorized to rent. This includes only listing items that are in a safe condition to use. *You are not permitted to list any dangerous goods, such as chemicals, alcohol, tobacco or weapons.
3. Try to answer all messages in a timely fashion.
4. Lendy is a third-party platform and by using it, you must also comply with Australian laws, regulations, safety measures, and/or booking agreement(s) by listing owners that are applicable.
5. We do not allow contact information or external links (URLs) on listings and/or in images that are added to listings. This includes emails, websites, and phone numbers.
6. For the safety and security of our community, we do not allow contact information to be sent through our messaging prior to a confirmed booking. Sending messages containing your personal information, and contact information, or taking transactions off our platform is against our policies and can result in being removed from our community.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations initiated by Lendees
If a Lendee cancels a booking, the following cancellation policy will apply.
● No charges will apply if cancellation is made more than 48 hours prior to the booking start date (based on the scheduled date of commencement shown on booking confirmation).
● Any cancellation made less than 48 hours prior to the booking start date will incur the full agreed rental fee (as per the booking confirmation).
Cancellations initiated by Lenders
If a Lender cancels a booking at any time:
● The full rental fee (as per the booking confirmation) will be refunded to the Lendee.
Unforeseen Circumstances
If a Lender or Lendee cancels a booking due to unforeseen circumstances, the booking may be canceled without penalty, only with the express approval of our customer support team. Please contact us in the event that this occurs and we will assess whether the waiver of penalty is appropriate.
We recommend that Lendees carefully review the above cancellation policy before making a booking and contact the host if they have any questions or concerns.
Lendy may change this policy from time to time or as the need arises.
Refund Policy
Thank you for choosing Lendy! Our refund policy is designed to ensure that both Lendees and Lenders have a fair and satisfactory experience on our platform. Here are the main points of our refund policy:
● If a Lender cancels a rental reservation, the Lendee will receive a full refund of any payments made.
● If a Lendee cancels a rental reservation:
● If the cancellation occurs 48 hours or more before the rental start time, the Lendee will receive a full refund of any payments made.
● If the cancellation occurs less than 48 hours before the rental start time, the Lendee will be charged.
Our processing times for refunds may vary depending on the situation, however you can generally expect to receive your refund within 7 business days.
Please note that our refund policy may be subject to change, and we encourage you to review it regularly. If you have any questions or concerns about our refund policy, please don't hesitate to contact our customer support team.
Dispute Resolution
Here at Lendy, we are fully committed to ensuring that our Lendees and Lenders have a fair and satisfactory exchange on our platform.
If there is a dispute between a Lendee and a Lender regarding:
● The conduct of a Lendee or Lender;
● The condition of a rental item; or
● Another issue related to the rental of an item,
We ask that you contact us (details via Contacts) and log a complaint. We will review your complaint, make contact with both parties, and work to find a resolution, where possible.
